Nuffy says touring with Vybz Kartel a dream come true

An emotional MC Nuffy says it's a great feeling to tour internationally with dancehall megastar Vybz Kartel.

"We speak it into existence and it a work. And wi naah duh nutten weh wi nuh genuinely mean, wi grateful for it," MC Nuffy shared. "Mi nuh only happy that I am there, I'm happy that Vybz Kartel free and a create history. From di time him guh a jail, mi a preach 'Free Vybz Kartel!' till mi duh all song - Teacha Muss Come A Road - which proves mi loyalty," he said.

"Mi know Vybz Kartel from [he was] nutten to supm; and fi weh him a achieve now, mi happy fi him and is a great story fi others look at," he said.

"Mi grateful fi weh him a do because a neva me did affi ina di space, as much as mi seh 'Free Vybz Kartel," he added. MC Nuffy has been a seasoned emcee for three decades and provided several opportunities to several Portmore artistes such as Spice, Gyptian and Vybz Kartel.

"Di first time Kartel collect money a Sting, a me collect di money. Weh day wi a run joke and laugh wid [producer] Skatta [Burrell] dem and Kartel a tell dem seh 'Yuh know seh Nuffy was almost like mi manager at one point because him always a look out fi mi'. A him a remind mi weh day and mi neva really see it as anything, wi just deh inna di same community and wi a look out fi each other. But this is the payment for me from him, as someone who's always supporting my career as well," he said.

HARD WORK PAYING OFF

MC Nuffy said he is the "only MC to introduce Kartel for his first show" since being released on July 31, 2024, which he did on December 31 at Freedom Street. The MC prided himself not only for his "loyalty" to the 'Worl Boss' for granting him that "huge opportunity," but also for his "hard work" that's paying off.

"Yuh see how Kartel guh to work - straight outta di cell to him show weh create history inna Jamaica and den straight to getting his visa and straight to di plane. Suh mi wouldn't deh a him foot unless mi work fi it. Nuh matta wah, whether mi and Kartel journey continue, mi a give thanks fi him because him open back [opportunities] fi Nuffy," MC Nuffy stated.

The highly energised 'Vibes Master', who is known for his strong stage craft and fashion, will show off his 'MC magic' in two shows at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, this weekend at 'The Return of Worl Boss Vybz Kartel' event.

"Sting is the toughest show pon Earth fi introduce an artiste, suh fi do dis fi Kartel internationally a easy one, two.
