The People's National Party (PNP) candidate for St Elizabeth South East, Norman Scott, has unequivocally denied allegations that he assaulted a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) worker at the BB Coke polling location in the constituency today.

He called the claims malicious and fabricated.

Scott, in a statement, stated that a crowd of JLP supporters converged on him while at the polling location.

According to him, the only physical contact that could have been made with anyone in the crowd was when he was trying to enter the polling station and was being prevented from doing so.

He expressed regret that a woman was allegedly injured during the melee and encouraged her to seek the necessary medical consultation.

"Let it be clear, I stand for peace, respect, and the democratic process. I have built my campaign on service, solutions, and integrity, not intimidation or violence".

"The truth is that South East St Elizabeth is ready for real leadership and positive change," said Scott.
