Dunbeholden multiply Treasure Beach woes with 4-0 hammering

Treasure Beach Football Club's attempts to not just climb from the Jamaica Premier League's (JPL) relegation zone, but also to recover from the devastation faced in the wake of Hurricane Melissa late last year hit a Dunbeholden FC-sized snag yesterday at St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS).
STETHS had agreed to give Treasure Beach access to the field so they could use it as their home ground after Hurricane Melissa, but there was no home advantage against a marauding Dunbeholden, who hammered them 4-0.
Chevoy Watkin opened the scoring for Dunbeholden in the 19th minute. But it wasn't all smooth sailing for Dunbeholden, who had to wait until the 53rd minute before doubling their lead, this time through Terron Williams.
Marlon Allen (58th) put the game out of reach five minutes later, before Damion Binns (90+5) added a one-sided tag to the story with a goal in time added.
The result means Dunbeholden land seventh going into the weekend with 17 points from 12 games, giving them a big jump in the table.
Dunbeholden leapfrogged Harbour View, 14 points from 13 games; Chapelton, 15 from 13; Molynes United, 16 from 14; Waterhouse FC, 16 from 14; and Arnett Gardens, 16 from 14.
Contrastingly, Treasure Beach, who have now lost their last four encounters, are 13th on the 14-team table with 12 points. Treasure Beach returned to the JPL weeks after the league's restart, due to the passage of Melissa, with a promising 2-0 win over Portmore United.
It has been all downhill since then. They lost 0-1 to Spanish Town Police, who are last on the table with just eight points, before suffering defeat by the same margin against Chapelton Maroons, and Montego Bay United clipped them 2-1 on the weekend.
According to Treasure Beach's head coach, Kemar Ricketts, the team's first win came after just two weeks on the training pitch, but the lack of time on the practice park is taking a toll on his players.
Dunbeholden, on the other hand, while not lighting up the league, have consistently proven hard to play against and went into the game as heavy favourites, with three draws and a win from their last four.
In those last four results, no team has scored against Dunbeholden -- 0-0 scorelines coming against Mount Pleasant, Chapelton, and Portmore United. In the mix was a 1-0 win over Tivoli Gardens FC.
Dunbeholden next visit Jarrett Park for a 3 p.m. fixture on Sunday against league leaders Montego Bay United, while Treasure Beach have a date with Mount Pleasant at Drax Hall at the same time.
