Man accused of pulling gun during dispute nabbed at airport

A man's attempt to leave the island was cut short when police arrested the Clarendon businessman at the Norman Manley International Airport for allegedly pulling a gun on another man during a dispute in his community.

Forty two year old Fabian Fraser, of Rocky Point, Clarendon and Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, has since been slapped with several gun related charges stemming from the incident on Saturday, February 7.

Reports from the May Pen Police are that about 1:00 p.m., Fraser was among persons at a gathering when an argument developed between him and another man. During the dispute, Fraser allegedly left the venue and later returned with a firearm.

He reportedly pointed the weapon at the man and threatened him.

A report was made to the police and an investigation was launched. On Tuesday, February 17, Fraser was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport as he was attempting to flee the island.

He was taken into custody and later charged with Assault at Common Law, Shooting with Intent, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition, and Using a Prohibited Weapon to Commit a Felony.

His court date is being arranged.
