Bounty Killer, DJ Khaled step up to help rebuild Western Jamaica
Longtime musical partners Bounty Killer and DJ Khaled are teaming up through their foundations to provide relief to western Jamaica, which was severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa last week.
The dancehall icon shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday in a series of posts announcing that his foundation, The Bounty Foundation, and DJ Khaled's We The Best Foundation will be joining forces to deliver critical support to victims of the storm.
"We're stronger now, Jamaica. I've been telling y'all for decades," said the Look Into My Eyes artiste.
The partnership aims to provide essential supplies, help rebuild damaged communities, and promote unity among Jamaicans both locally and abroad. Most of the monetary donations will go toward hospitals and schools in the coming days.
When asked about partnering with Bounty Killer, DJ Khaled described the move as a "no brainer."
DJ Khaled has long maintained strong ties with Jamaica's music scene, dating back to his early days playing reggae sound clashes and continuing through collaborations with artistes such as Buju Banton, Mavado, and Vybz Kartel on several of his albums. He considers Jamaica a second home and a major influence on his life and career.
Bounty Killer also shared details on how the public can contribute to the cause, with banking information for The Bounty Foundation listed in his post.
