‘Squaddy’ admits to robbing schoolboy of $10,000 phone
A St Catherine man who pleaded guilty to robbing a schoolboy of a cellular phone valued at $10,000 is to be sentenced in the Parish Court on November 14, 2025.
Charged with robbery is 18-year-old Kenroy Douglas, otherwise called 'Squaddy,' of Glengoffe District, St Catherine.
When the matter was mentioned in the St Catherine Parish Court on September 23, Douglas entered a guilty plea.
Senior Parish Court Judge Nelson-Gayle then ordered that Douglas be remanded. A social enquiry report and a fingerprint order were also requested to assist with sentencing.
The facts are that on Friday, September 12, the complainant was walking to school in Glengoffe, St Catherine, when he was held up and robbed of his Torch cellular phone by Douglas, who was armed with a knife.
The complainant made a report at the Glengoffe Police Station, and an investigation was launched. A search was later conducted at Douglas' home, where the cellular phone was discovered.
He was arrested and subsequently charged with robbery following a question-and-answer session.
