St Elizabeth police probe death of farmer found in yard

The St Elizabeth police have launched an investigation into the death of a 52-year-old farmer whose body was discovered in his yard in Breadnut Walk district, Maggoty, on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Deon “Fatta” Martin.

Reports are that about 10:00 a.m., an alarm was raised and officers were summoned. On their arrival, Martin’s body was found lying in his yard.

The scene was processed, and the body was later removed to the Black River Hospital. A post-mortem examination is to be conducted.

Detectives assigned to the Black River Criminal Investigation Branch are leading the probe.
